Insecticide lamp
An insecticide lamp is designed to attract and destroy flying insects. Lamps against mosquitoes, flies and other flying insects are ultraviolet equipment that is absolutely safe for human health.
Device structure
Insect lamps structurally consist of:
- ultraviolet light emitters (the number of lamps varies depending on the model) that attract insects;
- a grid (lattice) made of metal that is under voltage.
Often, the destroyer lamp is equipped with a special tray in which dead insects accumulate.
How the lamp works
An ultraviolet lamp-trap against insects is distinguished by its simple operation. The device attracts insects by emitting long-wave light.
When insects enter the device's range, they are attracted to the device by the glow of the lamp. Heading towards the light, flies, midges, mosquitoes, wasps, and other insects land on the metal grid.
When insects come into contact with the energized grid, they are electrocuted and die instantly. Falling down, the dead insects are collected in a tray. As soon as a large number of dead insects accumulate in it, the tray is removed for cleaning.
When insects land on the metal grid, a small electrical flash occurs, which is enough to ignite the flammable gas. Based on this, for industrial premises where the use of a device with an electric discharge is prohibited according to fire safety requirements, other models of lamps for fighting insects are used.
In industrial premises where the air contains flammable gases and vapors, killer lamps are used, in which the steel grids under voltage are replaced with special sticky surfaces (the grids with glue in such models are periodically replaced). Flies, mosquitoes and other insects fly to the light and stick to the grid.
Classification of insecticidal lamps
The protective lamp that kills insects is presented in different models that differ from each other. All types of insect catching devices are classified according to different criteria, which should be taken into account when purchasing equipment.
Purpose
Based on the purpose and place of use, repellant lamps can be:
- Household (installed indoors).
- Household, intended for the street (mounted in open areas).
- Professional for indoor installation. Used for bars, cafes, restaurants, hotels, etc.
- Professional for outdoor installation (on summer terraces, verandas).
- Industrial. They are used in production facilities of livestock farms, farms, food production.
Power
Electric insecticidal lamps differ in power, they can be:
- low-power (for areas from 10 to 30 sq.m);
- medium power (for rooms from 100 to 500 sq.m);
- high power (for rooms over 500 sq.m).
Advantages of insecticidal lamps
Insecticidal electronic lamps have gained popularity due to:
- Efficient and rapid destruction of flying insects.
- Convenience, safety of use.
- Easy installation, maintenance.
- Minimizing the risk of infection of people and animals with diseases carried by insects.
- Creating comfortable living conditions for people.
- Absence of unpleasant odors during operation of devices.
- Possibility of round-the-clock use of electric lamps.
- Absence of special care.
- Efficiency of devices, both indoors and outdoors.
- Long service life.
The use of insecticidal lamps in food industry enterprises, restaurant and hotel industry, catering establishments and wholesale and retail establishments is mandatory according to the requirements of the HACCP system.
